Storms roar across region, tornadoes reported

Excerpted Snips: Numerous buildings, from homes to schools, were damaged late Saturday night as thunderstorms with rotations capable of spawning tornadoes roared through northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan.

The Blade's media partner, WTOL-TV, Channel 11, said its sources were reporting at least two tornado touchdowns, including north of Liberty Center, Ohio, and near Millbury. Neither could be confirmed.

Tornado sirens first sounded across northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan after 10 p.m. as thunderstorms with strong rotations moved eastward from Williams and Hillsdale counties to Fulton, Henry, Lucas, and Wood counties.

Got a phone call from this area telling me the Lake Township police station is half gone and police cars are upside down. Another storm front is likely due to hit them at about 4:00 AM.

Update: Two dead thus far and search going on for an individual who was asleep in a collapsed house per Ohio State Patrol according to my source.

We got hit here in SE MI yesterday..........crazy hail and possible tornado. Downed power lines and trees.........and now I’m up again tonight.

The Toledo TV stations are reporting that the Lake High School in Millbury was virtually destroyed. Commencement was scheduled for this afternoon and is now postponed.

Sounds like a second tornado touched down in Fulton County (actually likely the same cell that hit Millbury/Lake Township) causing damage and injuries. Several horses are reported missing from a barn damaged in the Fulton County storm - I wonder if they were transported east?

We live between Petersburg and Ida, MI....didn’t get hit last ight, but a tornado may have zipped past about 10 miles to the north of us.

A co worker has a horse farm down in Fulton county in Ohio...I hope they’re ok
