The American people are too simple to choose from "an array of products" in "a system as massive and complex as health care. That is for leaders to do."

Behold the words of Donald Berwick -- doctor, Harvard professor, and Obama's nominee to run the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), arguably the most powerful position in U.S. medicine, directing the flow of almost one trillion dollars a year.

Maybe this expert would like to pick the citizens’ cell-phones, also. I’d almost appreciate that, given the confusing features of the phones, and the usage plans. Yet, something tells me people would still prefer to choose their own.

Covers it, I guess.

Buy ammo.

You should already have the weapons...

Cars, computers, TV’s all entail complicated choices pitting a potentially mind-boggling array of features/options against a large number of price-points. Heck, some people reportedly have difficulty choosing a box of cereal from among the dozens offered in a typical supermarket. Speaking of which, nutrition itself is pretty damned complicated with even experts disagreeing on what constitutes the best diet etc.

So where exactly should the nanny state stop in protecting citizens from their own dumb choices? Perhaps we need an expert panel to tell us how to vote too: as we saw in Florida in 2000, even that gets too complicated for a non-trivial fraction of voters.

But as with all such schemes, the question remains: who will guard the guardians? Given the corruption that pervades this administration, can they really be trusted to make choices that are in OUR interests rather than THEIRS?

Hitler thought he knew what was best for humanity as well. Stop playing God..it backfires every time. In the vast configuration of things..you really are not smart enough to decide what is best for every living soul, if you are honest. It is not for you to decide the choices for the American people as a whole. 300+mil people...think about it and start listening instead of conning and dictating.

That is what the left is after. A small "chosen" few to run everything, or, at least all vital aspects of our lives. Should this guy be called an Uber-Czar? Next, oil resources will need to be Uber-Czar-ed.
