I first moved to the Briggs Chaney area in '84 - back when that part of the county was considered somewhat 'rural'. If one lived in the Burtonsville area, you were considered 'way out in the sticks'. Now I'd get lost driving around there - it looks like one big racetrack of interstates.

"But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away, for his name is Obama."

I worked at a bike shop in Burtonsville in the 70’s, would ride up Briggs Chaney from Cloverly to Old Columbia Pike.

In ‘84 I had a bike shop in Olney.

When I last visited in 2007, the only thing that was sort of “original” was having a burger at Siebel’s restaurant.
