If Peruvian methods are similar to those in Argentina I suspect electrodes to the gonads may have been threatened if not actually applied. The spirit of Torquemada remains in all hispanic countries.

Jeez. Your prejudice — or perhaps unfamiliarity — is showing. The Peruvian criminal justice system is better than most in Latin America. If you read all the stories on this, he was questioned in the presence of a lawyer, a judge and about 15 other people. He was not tortured, no one laid a hand on him. He knows they have him dead to rights, he knows he’s in deep doo-doo, and he is cooperating in the hopes that they will go easier on him if he does. Which I doubt. The methods you describe are, in Latin America, typically used on political prisoners, not run-of-the-mill murdering psychopaths. And nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition.
