TOHONO O'ODHAM RESERVATION - The Federal Bureau of Investigation has opened an investigation after two Border Patrol agents shot and wounded two suspected drug smugglers after, agents say, the pair threw rocks at them.
The FBI's Manuel Johnson says the violence occurred Saturday afternoon on the Tohono O'odham Indian Reservation about 40 miles west of Nogales.
Johnson says border agents intercepted two men hauling backpacks containing drugs. The agents opened fire after the suspects hurled rocks at them.

Let’s do an experiment. Go into Mexico and throw some rocks at a bunch of Federales. Do you think there will be much of an investigation after they’re done with you?
A couple of things: there is always an investigation after a shooting. I suspect BP asked the FBI to do it for appearances sake. Also, I seem to remember that the Tohono O’odham tribe blocked or tried to block construction of the section of the fence adjacent to its reservation. Hmmm.
Smells like another Ramos and Compean witch hunt.
BP Agents should from now on just shoot and kill all illegals. They have a better chance to not be convicted of some stupid offense
The investigation ought to be into the fact that the perps were wounded instead of having assumed room temperature.

The illegal drug smugglers will be filing their civil suits any day now.
Maybe we need to put some FBI men on the border. They can show us all how to do it right and how to never resort to firearms.

It is one of the many duties of the FBI to investigate assaults on Border Patrol agents. Its one of several investigations the agents will have to go through

If the FBI were investigating to ensure BPs rights weren’t violated I’d be OK with that, but, living on the border, it’s painfully clear, the only “rights” being investigated and protected are those of the illegals.
Funny...but Black Jack Pershing wouldn’t put up with this BS...
For good or for ill, the FBI has investigation responsibility on Indian reservations.
