As a recruiter for high-tech, I completely see this. The majority of Computer Science students for advanced degrees in the U.S. are from outside the U.S.

The majority of Computer Science students for advanced degrees in the U.S. are from outside the U.S.

A good part of this may be to the fact that Americans are relatively well to do and the younger generation is not interested in working hard to get off the farm, since they never lived & worked on the farm.
