The word MACARONI is a generic product name, like GASOLINE or OIL, and cannot be copyrighted.
I submitted “MACARONI PLUS”.
I’m not a lawyer, but I think that while you couldn’t copyright the “WORD” you could copyright the PHRASE.
Who knows? Also, this little company couldn’t in a million years afford this much publicity. They’ve already won.

There's probably no infringement. These guys just decided the legal fees fighting McDonalds would bankrupt them, even if they won.
