Chaos and anarchy. That's what New York Gov. David Paterson is warning if he's forced to shut down the government in a few days.
The clowns in the state Legislature, now deadlocked for 71 days on the budget, are ready to take down the "big tent" and bring state government to a standstill. At least that's what Paterson thinks.
"No one knows the full ramifications of a government shutdown," said Paterson. "It would create unimaginable chaos around the state and the greater metropolitan areas."
Such chaos includes closing all state parks, motor vehicles offices, courts, and even the lottery. Public assistance payments would not be made and unemployment payments might also be held up.

The 50% of the populus that makes everything work wont even notice. Its only the hands out crowd and the media that would.
They can’t be that stupid. People will start to realize it isn’t all that necessary.
If it does shut down, all the government drones will go out of their way to create chaos just to justify their existence.
Watching New York bur it’s self to the ground on Fox. Would be entertaining I suppose.

For a democrat, Paterson is totally hated by the democrats. The dems hate him because the man is fiscally responsible. He actually makes cuts and tries his best to hold the line on taxes. He’s probabl;y the only democrat in the United States that actually uses the layoff option to trim fat.
Just got back from my first ever trip to NYC. Times Square isn’t even a square. Neither is Herald Square. Midtown is dirty, ugly, and overpriced. Outside of Central Park, there are very few green spaces.
It may be a world-class city in size, but it can’t compare with London, Rome, or Paris for style and grace.
I will never go back.

I think it is time we start calling their bluff.
We hear this every year in California. It is amazing of all the departments within the state they always start with Prisons, Police and Fire. Next they shut down all the parks (even if there is no real cost to keep them open).
The idea is to punish citizens for not being willing to pay more in taxes.
No lottery? No revolving door, useless courts...and prisons, ...no dog crap filled/homeless bum parks?

Have you take trams out to the concrete, soviet style slums that ring paris? No, I suppose not. Or the third world/chav neigborhoods of London? No, I suppose not.
Yeah, if it is government, la la pigon parks, they have NY beat. but if you want a real city, with energy, life force, then NY smokes them, with only london its equal.
