“First of all, they serve no earthly purpose other than to satisfy some kind of inner competitiveness these reckless people contain.”
Yea, I guess it is like climbing mountains, or any other risky endeavor in life.
Lets outlaw all risk and see how long the human species survives.
OK then, tell us what purpose this little boat trip served?
its a 16 year old child....get a grip.
These parents are idiots.
My wonder has been what people would be saying if she had made it without having to be rescued.
Hey, I’m for risking, but adults are responsible for their minor childrens’ lives.
Additionally, bills for services are given to adults for rescue efforts at times, especially if there was fraud or stupidity involved.
I’m glad she is okay. I do not agree with you, at least in conjunction with this child.
If sixteen is okay, how about twelve? If twelve is okay, how about ten? If ten is okay, how about eight? What is reasonable?
Personally, I see this as thinly veiled child abuse.
My kid wanted to drive at 12. Should I have allowed them to drive at twelve, because life is so short and we don’t want to stifle human adventure?
You’re comeback will involve the danger to other humans. IMO, the rescuers of this girl will also be exposed to extreme danger. Thirty foot seas?
I’m not even all that supportive of adults who get themselves into positions where it costs public entities hundreds of thousands or millions of dollars to bail them out when they get in over their head. As for a child of 16 putting others at risk, it is unacceptable.
This kid’s parents are nuts.
