I’m no friend of the shrink biz and they do have a self-serving history.
You’re not in the position to judge this G.I.
I am in a position to judge anyone who would kill himself and leave a spouse and youngens behind. They are nuts. There are certainly more PC and precise names to call it, but nuts covers them all.
