Is that even possible with modern high band radar?
To be clear, there is no such thing as a aircraft-specific transponder. Transponders emit a code as assigned by ATC.
We are “running” the airspace over there and we track the region’s traffic. There is no way Israel would be able to pull tis off unless they coordinate with us.
No matter, anyway, Israel won’t do it. They haven’t the weapon to attack the sites. We. . .on the other hand. . .
Not so much trying to spoof the radar by flying that close together...Doing so just to “appear” to be one aircraft return is hard to do for any great length of time, time enough to fly through a countries radar grid...
They obviously won’t be able to get away with that trick on the way home...After word gets around about an attack...They’ll lose some of that ability to pull the wool over those countries eyes...
