I saw earlier in the local news. Very sad.
They really need to lengthen that track and the shut off lane.
They will after this. But they probably won't make it longer, they will run the shorter 1000 ft, and the racing commission will mandate it for all tracks, not just big boys. It's unfortunate, but many of these older tracks can't buy the property they need. Now they won't be able to pay the insurance costs.
This is a dangerous sport, and accidents are going to happen. From the picture, it looks like a piece of debris went through the windshield and struck him in the head.
