However there are many issues more important and less derisive in the short run. Many people who have a superficial understanding of the issues will see this in a very negative light. Arizona's existence and safety are threatened. They will have no security or state if they don't take a strong stand now. Strictly enforcing immigrations laws is the prevailing attitude in the country given other states are considering similar legislation. Those who oppose illegal immigration and believe in upholding existing federal immigration laws are in the majority. Timidity in the past has brought us to where we are currently. Now is the time to pour it on.
