I was thinking of Mr. Reagan all week.
For last Saturday, 6 years ago, we lost him.
Yesterday, 6 years ago, we laid him to rest.
Both the 5th and the 11th of June, 2004, were on the same days of the week (Saturday and Friday) as they were this year.
How I wanted to go to his library in Simi Valley that week...I lived in Los Angeles and worked in Century City...the crowds were just so overwhelming, and I was afraid of my car breaking down in the intense heat. I settled for taking Friday off of work, so I could watch the memorial services all day.
I miss him. Now that was a REAL president.
Thank God we had Ronald Reagan.
