There’s the problem with this being a SEIU/ACORN plant.

exactly.

The racist blacks just voted for the brother with the matching skin tone, just as they always do. End of story.

It wouldn't of matter if they had known about his criminal history... in fact he might have won by larger margins if they had known. The black community only cares about the color of peoples skin.

I wonder what position Greene had on the ballot. Could be he was above Rawl, giving him an advantage over Rawl among those who didn’t recognize either name.

Yes, the black vote could have gone to Greene because he was black himself, but how did the voters know that if Greene didn’t do any campaigning?

Another possibility is that the vote had nothing to do about Greene at all, but rather was a voter rejection of Vic Rawl. Greene just happened to be someone who collected this protest vote. I don’t know anything about the SC political scene, can someone who is more familiar with it explore this hypothesis?

and he annoyed the rest of the electorate with his robocalls and spam emails.

No. He didn't do any campaigning. But I don't think the "presumptive nominee" did much, thinking he was a shoo-in. The issue was nobody knew either of these guys. The hunch is, and I believe correct, that a good many of the black Dem voters picked the guy who they thought was black, and who happened to be first on the ballot.

Don’t forget about the Black Churches that put out the free advertising to side with Greene.

Don't make stuff up. Greene did no campaigning, and nobody campaigned for him, few even knew he was running. He was just a name on the ballot.

What happened to “he won get over it”? I dare Al Green to show the world his long form birth certificate showing he is over 30 years old and an American Citizen thus eligible unlike Obie.

The ballot is alphabetical, and Greene was first.

Ballots are in alphabetical order.

Greene was first on the ballot. Being first has long been known to provide a big edge. It probably doesn't hurt that Alvin Greene's name is very similar to that of soul-singer-turned-pastor Al Green.

Name recognition + first on ballot = big win

I think his being black helped too...second most black state after Mississip

but the GOP did get caught at this 20 years ago there

but there was no need to do that this time

that seat is DeMints for as long as he wants it

That's racist! (The democrats, that is - but what else would you expect from the party of Byrd and the KKK?).

I don’t worry about being called a racist anymore. That word has been so overused it no longer has any meaning for me.
