Special Relationship Over? Britain Talks of Boycotting America
FOXNATION ^ | June 13, 2010 | Jonathan Oliver

The special relationship is over. We gave America years of unwavering support after September 11. And now we see how Barack Obama’s administration repays us.

First, Obama declared that America was “neutral” over the sovereignty of the Falklands, ignoring the clear wishes of the islands’ population. And, second, his Assistant Secretary of State, Philip Crowley, snubbed Britain by failing to use their proper name and instead calling them the “Malvinas”.

I don’t know where Obama learned about diplomacy, but his stinks...

Let me be clear: I’m not normally in favour of boycotts, and I love the American people. I holiday in their country regularly, and hate the tedious snobby sneers against the United States. But the American people chose to elect an idiot who seems hell bent on insulting their allies, and something must be done to stop Obama’s reckless foreign policy, before he does the dirty on his allies on every issue.

Go for it.
Once BHO is out of office, we’ll come beggin’ to restore the “special relationship.” But, until then, we have anti-White, anti-West, crypto-Muslim in the White House and he’s no friend of yours (or ours).

To be fair, only half of America voted for the idiot. Maybe if the Brits only boycotted the blue areas :-)

I’m glad to hear that winniesboy. All I know is the ones with loudspeakers (or ability to write headlines) were rejoicing at Obama. It makes me feel much better to know that all of the UK hasn’t lost it’s mind to political correctness.

Good. We enough enough effeminate men and skanky women with annoying accents in this country as it is. The Poms can stuff it with their Watneys for all I care. Now if we can only get the creepy old German guys in speedos banned from Miami Beach hotels.

I know some were skeptical but others were giddy.

Some were indeed giddy, some were indeed sceptical. But there were others of us again - indeed I suspect the majority - who, while curious and intrigued by the unusual choice, didn't know enough about either the man himself, or U.S. politics in general, to have a strong opinion one way or the other.

Polls showed nearly 75% of Brits favored 0bama in our election. What is true is they didn’t know enough about the man, which is true of almost all who voted for him. But tens of millions saw through him and didn’t like what they saw.

Ah,polls, polls.....Freepers are usually properly sceptical of one-off polls of this kind (how was the question put?...etc...etc), and I would hope that scepticism is applied to this case also. From my own experience at the time I would very much doubt whether the number expressing positive support was remotely as high as 75%.

I’ve been using the term “Pom” because I’ve spent way too much time hanging around Australian chat sites, which is a hell of a lot safer than hanging around a men’s room when English “men” are present. ;)

They certainly were.

I happened to be in the UK on election night. They were estatic.

Maybe we conservatives should do what the liberals did after Bush was elected and put up a “We’re Sorry World, We Didn’t Vote for Him” website.

Most British people like America.

Those who post on the net?. Remember empty vessels make the loudest noise.
