According to the designer the boat was 'unsinkable'.

They couldn't sink it. It's still floating and they left a warning for other ships. That was posted in an article this weekend.

So, it really wasn't as dangerous as they are making it out to be. If she was that safe, then why not risk the attempt?

Besides, you say it was only the 'reality tv show' which prompted her to do this.
