The washington Post says that this was a hug!!!

You are incorrect sir;
1. his first hold was a wrist lock
2. his second was a choke hold that moved to a neck grip, with pressure applied it really hurts, some parents use this on their children to make them pay attention and force them to look at them when they are talking.... See More
3. his last hold, that you call a hug, was a shoulder lock. Notice that the young mans shoulder was under his arm locked in his armpit. His hand was 6” or so down the young mans shoulder, and then pulled him towards his body, this creates an advantage using his height over the young man. Try it ourself, you can control a person this way, and they lose the ability to swivel and get away.
The young man dropped down unexpectedly to free his shoulders, spin, and get away.
This congressman is familiar with physically imposing himself on others, and I am willing to bet, he has done it his whole life, and probably to his family members as well. He is a controller, both physically and mentally, and a bit of a psychopath IMO.
When this type of behaviour is allowed to be exhibited in public and becomes acceptable behaviour for our elected officials...well, its a slippery slope.
Its time for him to resign. Based on what I have heard from people in his district, he is not thought well of, or very good at his job anyway.
So leave now under your own steam sir, or be tossed out on your ear by your constituents. You have lost their respect, and I suspect it was a long time coming.
“his first hold was a wrist lock”
The WaPo will say Etheridge was just concerned about the kids health and was just trying to take his pulse.
