I’m pro privatization of the military and that includes nearly all intelligence gathering.

IMO real secrets are rare. And should be — but there are ten thousand things classified for every thing that needs to be a secret, and what should be secret ends up not.

Potential war plans are usually secret anywhere you go ~ whether this country or another one.

They do a lot of that sort of planning at the Pentagon.

They also do design review on weapons systems. And, sometimes they design weapons systems.

Crazy business Fur Shur.

Now, regarding "intelligence", most intelligence services use USPS post office box service to collect and aggregate intelligence hard copy gathered abroad.

Sometimes those people crawl out of the woodwork ~ made the job interesting as could be.
