The announcement that Helen Thomas has been sent to journalistic Valhalla is good news on several levels. Not only because it at last removes an erratic, out-of-control figure who has represented a political and social embarrassment for decades, but also because it signals that America has once again dodged the anti-Semitism bullet.

It is encouraging that almost no one jumped up to defend her. I wonder though how widespread her thinking is among her colleagues.
It is kind of like the old joke about two Jews riding the train in communist Russia:
One Jew was reading an underground paper that gave news of the latest attacks, murders, and abuses of the communists on the local Russian Jews. The other Jew was reading the Communist newspaper of lies. It had headlines about how the Jews had all the wealth, had all the power, and were oppressing the Russian people.
The second fellow watched his fellow Jew with concern and finally blurted out, "How can you read such a piece of communist propaganda! It is nothing but lies. We are suffering everyday."
The first man put his paper down and looked thoughtfully at his friend, smiled and said; "I used to be like you and read the Jewish newspaper but I got depressed. It told me of the lates pogrom, imprisonment, and government murder. Instead, NOW I read the GOOD news.... about we have all the power and money!"
Good thing racism against whites isn’t antisemitism then, or the US would really be in trouble...
