Members of the Illinois Minutemen want to make it clear: They are not against immigration, as was mistakenly stated in Sunday's article on the local protest, and counterprotest, of the Arizona immigration law. They are against ILLEGAL immigration.
Following Sunday's story, which referred to the Minutemen as being against immigration, The Sun received several e-mails.

"The article misrepresented the Minutemen and everyone else in support of the Arizona law," said one. "Legal immigration is welcome, not ILLEGAL immigration. Why does everyone neglect to put the word 'ILLEGAL' in as that is the word that explains the entire discussion!"
According to another: "We need to protect our country, which is the greatest country in the world. I do not blame people for wanting to come here; however, they must follow our laws and learn the English language."
And from Dave Gorack, Midwest Coalition to Reduce Immigration: "This sounds to me as though you believe that enforcement of our immigration laws and opposing amnesty is 'anti-immigrant.' Editorial writers and columnists are permitted to express their opinions, reporters are not. Your job is to present the facts. Please be more careful in the future when choosing your words."

Illegal immigration story corrected PING!!
It’s become standard operating procedure for the word “illegal” to be conveniently omitted. I’m amazed that this reporter corrected it.
>> Im amazed that this reporter corrected it.
Jenette probably got reprimanded by her parents.
ALL Immigration to this country needs to stop until the U.S. employment rate is back down to Bush-era levels. Stop apologizing people.
Exactly.. Shut it all down until WE can straighten this mess out
That’s not going to happen. It would be downright un-American. Our country is a land of legal immigrants.
Ping!
Looks like ChicagoLady and crew managed to get at least one reporter to break away from the AP Style Guide...
Great work, ChicagoLady!
It's been done before. Now it's an act of heresy to even mention it. As a matter of fact, millions have been deported in our country's history, but we don't have the balls to do it anymore because of political correctness.
“Our country is a land of legal immigrants.”
No, it’s a land of the descendants of immigrants, who became *Americans.*
Nowhere in that is there a justification for allowing the immigration of mobs of foreigners who have no interest in assimilating—who intend to form their own slums and demand that *we* adjust to *them* as they continue to practice honor killings, clitoral excisions, and other barbarisms right here in **our** country.
Not theirs. Ours.
Screw them.
85% of the country was born here. We are not a nation of immigrants.
YES!
We need to also be able to REJECT criminals and other unsavory characters.
