If it was a discussion of a 16 year old doing a solo trek up Everest IN WINTER (just to win the "youngest ever" record before he aged out), I'd ask a bunch of pro mountain climbers their opinion, over a bunch of guys who have only seen a mountain on TV.

Especially if he did it in sneakers and a track suit, and his only emergency plan was to activate an EPIRB and have the world at large come rescue him in a wintertime blizzard at 23,000 feet.

But hey, that's just me.

You probably know a lot more about ocean sailing than I do.

I am happy as you are in that photo, for the girl. Both for the fact that she was bold and courageous enough to sail halfway around the globe in a boat she did not build, one that had problems which she dealt with, and that while demasted — and upset, she used the RIGHT technology — just like you are PROUD of your own self-built boats technology — to be rescued.

I am not happy, though, to see you operating in these seas under a rudder of envy.
