TUCSON - Warnings are out in parts of Arizona warning alerting you of possible danger.
The Bureau of Land Management is putting up signs, along Interstate 8 between Gila Bend and Stanfield.
Kathy Pedrick from the Bureau of Land Management says the signs went up because of recent incidents along the border south of I-8.
She says, "there was a Pinal County Sheriff's deputy shot at, there's been some homicides recently with some of the smugglers."
The signs warn the public they could encounter smugglers or individuals who may be armed.
Gilbert Meehl believes the signs are a good idea especially for those who aren't familiar with the area. He says, "those who pull off the road from another state to take their picture with a cactus and they travel down one of these roads, there's no telling what they can run into."

You’re right; perhaps we’re too humane for our own good....
Survivors will be shot again.
The 3 S’s will come into play......Shoot Shovel and Shut up.
It is an absolute outrage that part of our country is no longer for “Americans”. Can the governor call out the national guard for this? I know Washington won’t. Isn’t the military used to squash foreign aggressors? This just makes me sick.
Someone needs to shoop those on!
Ditch the stupid signs and get the National Guard, locked and loaded along the border with an effective double fence. Take any smuggler or drug lord down hard (meaning shot dead) that we find.
Detain and put to hard work any illegal who simply tries to cross...and engage with full and maximum force any corrupt Mexican army or LEO units in league with the druggies or smugglers who either cross over or engage us from their side.
They may be against those things, but they like the FREEBIES more.
“And I really don’t want to carry a handgun on vacation.”
A handgun is just a substitute for a sword - a close quarters, last ditch weapon, usable to fight your way to the rifle you should have with you in such places.
Since they closed our restrooms, what are we supposed to do now that we can’t pull off in the desert on the way to San Diego :0))
This is a very pretty area too, in my opinion, full of saguaros and rolling hills. We’ve driven through there so many times to get to LA and San Diego, a much prettier drive than on I-10.
Wear Depends, Carry empty 3# coffee cans, ??????
LOLOL
Indeed, sounds like a good place for a hunting trip!
Of course, this Regime will come down like a ton of bricks on anyone trying to defend themselves from the Southern Invasion.
I’m glad I’m on your ping list. Thank you.
