Yah... these guys were pilots. Presumably smart, and probably from the upper class of Afghanistan, such as it is. I doubt they’d be Taliban or sleepers though it’s always possible. I’m thinking these guys got a taste of what it’s like to live in America... and quickly decided they’d just rather *not* return to that fourth-world hellhole.

My first thought was....Texas women...cold beer...why would they want to go back to Afghanistan?

I have a friend that escaped from Afghanistan in the late 80’s. I asked him the other day (over a couple of beers) what he misses about the place, he said that he would really like to go back someday so he could leave again because nothing has ever made him feel as great as the day he left the place.
