Police trip to Tucson canceled, sparking anger

Los Angeles Police Department officials say four officers scheduled to attend a conference and training session in Tucson next month will not go, sparking anger among police union leaders.
The trip to the annual Airborne Law Enforcement Assn. conference was thrown into question last month after the Los Angeles City Council voted to suspend most travel to Arizona as part of its protest of that state's law dealing with illegal immigration.
Two councilmembers sought an exception but that vote will now be tabled.
Paul Weber, head of the Police Protective League, calls it a mistake to sacrifice public safety for politics.
Arizona's new law makes it a crime to lack immigration papers and requires police to determine the status of people they suspect are in the country illegally.

Personally, I’d love to see L.A. get completely crippled by illegals lining up for all their freebies. Illegals know they’re not welcome in Az, so whether it’s L.A. or Sacramento, my attitude is, “Burn, baby, burn.”

This is all so wonderfully Marxist, lets attack the perceived weakling. Hopefully it has solidly set the ground for getting the illegal-(whatever you want to call them) tossed out of the US before bankruptcy.
Mexicans have suffered a horrible fall from grace. Widely liked and now largely detested.

Remember when push comes to shove, their Union men. This goes most for the FBI and CIA - they stabbed President Bush every chance they got.
In fact the CIA goddess - Valerie La Plame is about to be immortalized with her monstrously dishonest husband, Hollywood calls.

I say send all the illegal aliens caught to one of the boycott cities at a time.
This year Austin, next year SackofPelosimento, then Seattle, etc. until they cry, “¡Tio!”

The Chief wants the officers to go it’s the city council and the mayor that have a case of stupid.

He can’t have it both ways. He spoke out vs. Arizona’s law and de facto supported the L.A. boycott.

Yep but he knows he’s got to support his officers and they are truely PO’d. The Union rank and file will set him up for a fall yet.
