Interesting how the PaulBots decide who is pure but can always find excuses for Ron Paul and some of their other
phony conservatives when they side with Liberals and the
Far Left.

I don't see the problem. We spend 1.5 trillion a year on defense. We have bases in over 150 countries? We should not be the police of the world and we already have two illegal unconstitutional wars going on right now. Does anyone care about the constitution? I agree with having a strong military but all of our troops should be home. The best way to honor our military is not to send them to war at all unless in defense after an attack (we were attacked not by a state but by individuals). We should be defending our own borders. We are broke. Why are we nation building?? Sending our troops without a declaration of war and then tie their hands... http://towneforcongress.com/platform-issues/afghanistan-war/

Then lets do away with Police Depts., they cost money too.
Just tell everyone to be good and that way there will be no need for the police.

U.S. Rep Barney Frank supports reducing the U.S. military budget by 25 percent, saying the federal government must consider cutting defense spending, or other cash-strapped government-funded initiatives will suffer more.

He says the cuts are for deficit reduction. The reality is that these cuts are to fund other government "initiatives."

O.K., Paulbots, defend THIS!!!!

Sure.

In an age of $1.5 Trillion Dollar Deficits, does somebody want to explain to me why we've still got over 80,000 troops defending Germany? Italy? France fer crying out loud?

Let "Old Europe" defend itself. With the Economy suffering the worst downturn since the Great Depression, any dimwitted Paul-Hater who DOESN'T look to Cut the massive Defense Subsidies we provide for numerous countries which don't need it is not a Conservative at all -- they're just a slack-jawed idiot.

Game, set, match.

It is amazing some of crap being funded by DoD. Of course a lot have to do with earmarks from Congress (e.g., extra Gulfstreams to fund Pelosi’s trips home). But there are also stupid waste, fraud, and abuse programs to further objectives other than was is best for the warfighter.

For example, the F-22 is an awesome aircraft, but where is the upgrade/replacement for the A-10 Warthog? Most of the AF brass hate it because it is not sexy (fighter or bomber). The AF A-10 pilots love it, and so does the Army. But it about took an act of God to get them into the fight for operation Anaconda (2002).

Never could understand why people with no military knowledge somehow know more than professionals. You wouldn’t let your plumber prescribe life-impacting medicine. So why should Congress overrule the generals on what equipment they need? Advise, inform but not dictate.

How does reducing men and materiel make us safer? Or is this DeathCare revisited?

You’re correct. Sad that we cannot find any common ground even when /if it makes sense.

I’m sick of the Yourapeons getting a free ride.

Defend this, Paultard...

Not hard to defend at all. It is akin to the pro-warrior alliance with Joe Lieberman (an advocate of socialized medicine and stimulus plans) who has been much praised here for his support of an interventionist foreign policy. If you also attacked that alliance, you might have a right to throw stones at the "Paultards." Did you?

I note that the pro-world policers absolutely had no problem with their alliance on specific issues with Joe Lieberman (a defender of Obama care).
