Now that the hit show 24 is a thing of the past, creator Joel Surnow has set his sights on the Kennedy Legacy. Surnow is putting together a miniseries about the Kennedy family that will air on the History Channel. Unfortunately, since Surnow is a conservative in Hollywood there have already been people bashing the project.
Surnow responds to critics:
“It’s not fair because they looked at early drafts of script that don’t even resemble the final draft. It was way too early for them to comment on it.
The fact of the matter is, because I’m known as one of the few conservatives in Hollywood, they automatically assume this was going to be a hatchet job. They didn’t look further into it. The writer, Steve Kronish, is a liberal Democrat.

After 50 years of the media and leftist book authors building up the Kennedy myth, I would certainly hope this miniseries is a “hatchet job” just to balance things out a bit.
I hope he makes special note of Mary Jo.
Any bets on whether he is pressured to make certain “changes?”
All kidding aside, I still don't understand the current lefts love affair with JFK. By todays liberal standards, his political leanings = conservative GOP. But his personal life was all dem (banging whores, slamming drugs, doing deals with organized crime to get votes, etc...).
Maybe that's what the dems don't like about this. It's simply another reminder of what they consider morals and values.

I’d feature golf-club brandishing drunks engaging snorting lines off of mirrors, then swapping wives. Then Yuri Andropov might have a walk-through cameo.
Marilyn would get drunk and weepy and shoot off her mouth about love for RFK/JFK. I heard they busted into her place and “did her” with a lethal drug delivered via anal suppository.

I’m sure it will be more fair than a Liberal hollywood’s dealings with a Conservative’s Legacy.....Remember the Reagan TV movie with Brolin???
Maybe we’ll finally get something besides the well-cultivated Kennedy myth.
