Rep. Jo Bonner, an Alabama Republican, is calling on Rep. Joe Barton to step down as the ranking Republican on the House Energy and Commerce Committee.

Bonner is the second Republican, following Florida Republican Rep. Jeff Miller, to call for Barton to step aside.

In a lengthy statement, Bonner said his colleague’s Thursday comments regarding BP “sadly fell short of an appropriate response.”

This is the first time I’ve felt physically sick over Republican leadership.

It's a very familiar feeling for most of us.

I never liked or trusted Boehner.

I need to make a visit to Joe’s site and
thank him.

The tea parties in their States and District need to go after them in a very public manner. Obama took $20 billion from a private corporation with no oversight of the Executive Branch, he can spend as he pleases. The GOP needs to demand Congressional oversight, or cut 20 billion from the Executive branch budget. We need to make sure the money is used for cleanup and lost incomes. Anything left over should be returned to shareholders. Otherwise it will windup in union and ACORN coffers.

Why would you thank him, he apologized. He is just as much to blame as Boehner, Cantor and Pence. Man Up , if you believe something stand by your word.

What is wrong with these people? I am amazed at their arrogance and ignorance.

This all is actually great. All these RINO's are coming out of the wood work and showing who they are.

Time to turn on the political weed eaters and cut these RINO's out at the stem.

A bonfire is all we need to get rid of this old dead wood.

I have NEVER liked Boehner. He pays lip service to conservativism once in a while but what has he ever done? All he cares about is getting the majority back so he be a big man in town. The Dems put their firebrand true believers into leadership positions. We put in Boehner and McConnell. I rest my case.

Messrs. Bonner and Miller, get bent.

Looks like two legislators need to be replaced. He just state the obvious. What's the problem?

What? Have you been on a steady diet of ipecac until today?

Joe Barton tells the truth and he is excoriated for it.

Joe Barton and many FReepers have failed to ask one question: did BP cut a deal with the Obama administration: $20 billion for a slap on the wrist concerning a criminal investigation, and tons of other goodies like cap and trade and federal bailout guarantees?

If Barton and his supporters can't even muster the strength to consider BP and Obama cut a deal then we're all doomed.

I stand with Joe Barton.

You do? Has he apologized for his apology for apologizing and I missed it?

Any Republican who call on this guy to resign is a coward - plain and simple.

We are in a FIGHT for our FRICKEN LIVES here People!!!!

Drop the notion of “pleasantries” or this Marxist Regime will confiscate our property and our rights!

This whimpy-assed moron who made this call for resignation should just go and hide, and leave it to the real adults who have a backbone do the heavy lifting to save this country.

John Boehner should be known as “John Bonehead” in my opinion.

How foolish to cave into White House intimidation on this matter and go after Congressman Barton.

We put in Boehner and McConnell.

Reward politics is what gave us Bob Dole and John McCain. Look were those eventually got us.

Advancement by "political assassination" is what the Dems do and they always have strength in their leadership. The other thing they do is to join ranks and not give up anything to those out side their party.
