I would like to see a program that encourages illegal immigrants and citizens to blow the wistle on their employeers. If you are the first caller to identify the business, then you are granted a 2 year work permit. 2nd caller, 1 year work permit. 3rd caller, 6 months.
All others get deported, business gets fined, $10,000 per worker for the first offense. $20,000 per worker for the second offense and $30,000 for the third offense plus the officers of the business go to jail for 1 month times the number of illegals employed over the last year.
Existing legal immigrants or citizens would be eligible to receive a bounty equal to the level of the fine once the fines have been paid by the company.
Use of the e-verify system plus a background check on each employee is proof positive that the employer made a reasonable effort to verify the citizenship of the individual and provides active defense against prosecution.
