Yep, when we get a decent AG again I hope s/he banishes them like Ashcroft and Gonzales did and makes it’s clear that even that talk is not welcome when working.

A veritable tsunami of evil. What is going to happen? How is this evil going to be rolled back, shoved back into the closet, and the door nailed shut? It has to happen.
All bureaucracies do this. They become enormous worlds of their own, largely oblivious to the outside world whenever possible. Within these worlds, people are required to participate in absurd rituals while acting like they actually mean something.
In the private sector, this tendency is limited by financial reality, in which regimes can be swept away in seconds. So in the private sector no one takes this kind of ritual glad-handing and brother-in-lawing seriously.
Governments, on the other hand, have a never ending supply of taxpayer money, and the career bureaucrats that infest it come to believe that their ridiculous insular world is the real one. And there is no end to the rituals.
