Someone tell chet99!
Sounds racist to me..
I have been told that it’s not the dogs fault.
poor little dogies.
It’s just that a hugely disproportionate number of pit bull owners are animal abusers.
Spay and neuter those attracted to own pit bulls.
I don’t like this much more than I like “ban all PBTs”. There is so much opportunity for fraud and abuse, never mind stupidity.
Frontal lobotomies for these beasts might make a difference but spaying and neutering won't! Better yet, pass a law that if your dog, whatever breed, kills a child, both your dog and you will be shot on sight. That would solve the pit bull problem......
On Father’s Day Mr. Mercat and I were discussing whether our rescued dachshund was a father. He became part of our family last summer at the ripe old age of 5 and had not been neutered. Since he was born and raised in Sturgis, SD, we figured he had probably had quite a bit of fun and in fact we decided that there were probably a bunch of pit-weenies running around in Sturgis.
I would wager more people are killed by pit bulls in this country than by people shooting full auto weapons.
So let’s make a pit bull license cost around two or three grand, and a 500 dollar tax every time one of the damned things changes hands.
The guy walking the dog held his dog and walked away in a haze, literally. The look on his face was dumbstruck as he kept looking back at the house where the dogs were being 'herded' by the dude in the satin robe.
The car ahead of me swerved to miss the pup on the leash and the grey pit chasing him into traffic. I'm glad it wasn't hit as I was the next vehicle (with brakes on and cars behind me slowing down as they could see the comotion too). If this is a typical example of dog control by a pit owner (three or four actually) they have work to do.
Well done. They should be illegal to own, but this is a start.
This is clearly an unpredictable, and dangerous breed that should be owned only by those capable of meeting their needs and keeping them away from children.
As it is, every low-life POS in the inner city dreams of having his own “bad-ass” “Pit”.
It’s like having a million Mike Tyson’s running around the streets—nothin’ but trouble, toil, and ear parts strewn everywhere.
