ADL Files Brief Opposing 'Misguided' Arizona Immigration Law

Phoenix, AZ, June 22, 2010 … Calling Arizona's restrictive new law on immigration, "ill-conceived and misguided," the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) has filed an amicus brief in the U.S. District Court for Arizona in an effort to stop the legislation from going into effect.

Miriam Weisman, ADL Arizona Regional Chair, and Bill Straus, ADL Arizona Regional Director, issued the following statement:

Rather than making Arizona more secure, we believe this law will have the opposite effect. Fear of heightened law enforcement scrutiny about immigration status will deter victims and witnesses from coming forward and cooperating with the police, making it significantly more difficult for police to do their jobs.

We understand that secure borders are a legitimate concern, but SB 1070 does not effectively address that concern. Rather, this bill drives a wedge between the Latino community - whose members are frequent targets of bias-motivated violence - and those local law enforcement agencies entrusted with protecting them.

The bill is a manifestation of anger and frustration, fueled by exaggerated fears of violence and passed against a backdrop of increasing xenophobia. It is ill-conceived, misguided, and should not be implemented.

ADL is a longtime advocate of community–police partnerships to prevent, investigate and solve hate and bias-motivated crimes. The League's brief was prepared with the assistance of David J. Bodney and Peter S. Kozinets of the Phoenix office of Steptoe & Johnson LLP.

What do you expect. The leftist thugs at the ADL tried to silence Stephen Steinlight. They care more about being politically correct than dealing with Islamist terrorism.

Instead of taking a position based on touchy-feely "beliefs", let's look at facts. Prince William County Virginia cracked down on illegals a couple years ago. Since then crime is down 30%.

A sickening lie. Mexicans and other "hispanics" or "latinos" commit violent crimes against non-hispanics including both white and black people way out of proportion to anything like their fraction of the population.

They do so because they come from a thug "society" that tells them they are entitled to attack the "gringo", for a variety of idiotic excuses.

Abe Foxman has been director of ADL way too long and should have retired years ago. He’s become more and more misguided and on the wrong side of too many issues and raises the ire of the leaders of more clear thinking organizations. ADL needs to return to its original mission.

All these left wing organizations push the same agenda. They just put a different face on each one to attract different people: jewish, labor, black, women, hispanic, environmentalism, etc...

Jewish Mexicans?

OK, we need to import an equal number of Muslim Eskimos?

Will everyone please just stay where they are born?

And now the ADL has entered the fray

They've been there a long time. The ADL is as fanatically pro-illegal immigration as the SPLC.

Time to officially put them on the sh*tlist.

Both are Dem donors according to Fundrace.org.

ADL joins the list of those responsible for the border chaos and criminality.
