Actually, I think that this (conservative/libertarian) group is gaining if not only in numbers, definitely in their voice (thanks to FOX News; FreeRepublic; blogs, etc.)

9/11 was a "wake up call" to many in "tinsel town" and has spurred many to realize that their former idealized views have been misguided; for others who were more conservative in their leanings realized they could no longer stand silent, listening to their own "brain dead" colleagues blather on and on.
