Two stupid things about “de-programming” your kids:

One, they have thousands of “seat hours” in front of teachers with an agenda to “program” into them, and you’re gonna take a couple of hours each night to counter this?

If you’re willing to commit a “couple of hours” a day to de-program them, why not spend one more hour a day and homeschool them?

Kids pick up a GREAT DEAL by example...(THAT'S why the media and OTHER KIDS have so much effect on them.) Parents can set an example contravening all and everything that the friends, teachers, textbooks and the system routinely smuggle into his little conscience.

It can be done. Not as a line-item, labor-intensive process, That would be impossible...but, in the other much more dramatic and effective way. By EXAMPLE

Well-put and for my wife and I that was the clincher: she could work and we could put our kids in school/day care, but the cost would basically eat everything she could earn. Why not eliminate the middle-types, cut the cash flow and improve the result? She home-schooled and our kids all entered college at least three years early.

And it didn’t take all that much ‘courage’, even though we did this in the SF Bay Area, which, you would think, might be one of the worst places to attempt it. Sure, we were broke all the time, but we weren’t insane, so that’s big enough plus for us.
