The White House is reviewing a list of possible replacements for Gen. Stanley McChrystal, who admitted to top Obama administration officials that he "compromised the mission" by making disparaging comments in a Rolling Stone interview.

The White House has asked the Pentagon for a list of possible replacements, even though administration officials insist a decision on whether McChrystal will keep his job will not come until after he has made his case to the president in their face-to-face meeting.

Possible successors that administration officials are reviewing include Gen. James Mattis, U.S. Joint Forces Command chief; Lt. Gen. John Allen , deputy commander to Gen. David Petraeus at United States Central Command; Lt. Gen. David Rodriguez , McChrystal's second in command in Afghanistan; and Gen. Martin Dempsey, commander of the Army Training and Doctrine Command.

The General should hand the Won his letter of resignation and deliver a right-cross to the Won’s chin at the same time!

They just said on Fox News that McChrystal runs 7 miles a day and eats one meal a day and some other things indicating a very disciplined person. This “interview” that really wasn’t an interview doesn’t really fit.

If he voted for Obama as reported, that doesn’t fit either. Maybe he needs to eat more and run less and spend some time getting informed about candidates. From the APPEARANCE of things, he is a contradiction.

State run media leaking out the Obama plan. These media clowns are just mindless pawns. McChrystal saying he doesn’t plan to offer resignation. Obama will have to fire him and the media will swoon at his power.

Excuse me while I go throw up.

I don't get it either. What a mental mistake on McChrystals part. I just don't get it, anyone in the media should be doubted, but the Rolling Stone? Scratching my head.

There are only two reason anyone voted for Obama

Black racism
White guilt

"Elementary, my dear Freepers. If there's to be a replacement for the General the chap with the Latino name will get it," replied Holmes.

The General really should resign... Obama’s handling of the war effort is nothing if not incompetent and aloof. By resigning, McCrystal, a four star, would basically be saying that this administration is a bungling mess and by extension, so also, the war effort. How can this general or any other execute a mission that is doomed from the start due to lack of interest from the commander in chief. 0 is more interested in the accouterments and prestige of the presidency than he is with solving difficult issues.

Obama fires him and the mission goes down hill further then Obama will own it, lock, stock and barrel with no one else to blame, not even his Generals.

These Generals would have been called heroes if they were bashing Bush but now they are called traitors.

“I’ve compromised the mission” statement McChrystal supposedly said is according to WHO at the white house?

Biden? Or one of the other lying clowns in this administration. There is NO way the General said this because he knows it isn’t true.

State run media leaking out the Obama plan.

Exactly, down to the details of possible replacments. Talk about indiscrete remarks by staff. It is being leaked by the Administration with the guidance of the "Won" himself. I so despise the MSM and their propaganda.

When everyone is resigning, even Rahm, it shows a lack of confidence in the leadership

What a mental mistake on McChrystals part. I just don't get it, anyone in the media should be doubted, but the Rolling Stone? Scratching my head.

Part of me wonders if McChrystal wasn't asked from above to accomodate the interview. The guy who owns Rolling Stone is a big Obama donor and supporter if I recall correctly. If he was told to let this interview happen, the administration will not want to fire him and free him to say "Gates (or whoever) forced me to do it, now they fire me because they don't like what they hear from the troops".

irregardless of what he said, doesn’t it sound like Obamas great idea to call rolling stone and do a cool story on my war effort? Since when does Rolling stone have access to the top general?

McChrystal was suggested as a possible 2012 contender. We don’t even know if Hastings or the editor/publisher of Rolling Stone told the truth. Nothing is actually reported from McChrystal’s mouth. IOW, we have no idea if this is the truth. But it calls 2012 into question for the General.

And we’re not talking about the Gulf, the lack of a budget, the FCC internet control, HC, making illegals able to stay by possible EO, the budget director resigning, Blago & connections to 0bama & Emanuel, Emanuel getting out, etc., etc.. Oh. And Cap ‘n Tax & the ‘Smart Grid.’

We’re not talking about dicatorial power grabs, Soros & like-minded Nazis, Israel & Iran, etc.

And we don’t really even know if the RS story is true.
