Gen. Stanley McChrystal to Face Obama: 'I've Compromised the Mission'(The buck stops where?)

I agree! This man is too disciplined to slip up and make a ‘mistake’ like this. He is a man of action, unlike his CIC, and this was part of his action. He felt he and his command’s mission was being ignored by the White House. Well, he fixed that! It's at the top of their list. And he will be none the worse for wear. It might have been a case of bad judgment, but it certainly got the job done.

People who are not ‘doers’ tend to have trouble understanding those who are. Most successful doers have faith in their abilities and will set a series of events in motion, confident they can handle the results, regardless.

My guess would be that this man has simply had his fill of having to do a job he believes in with less than the full support of those above him. He's put it all on the line and the situation will most likely be resolved in short order.

I suspect he is sufficiently tenured that retiring would not be that big of a blow.

Frankly, I like, and respect, someone who does what it takes to get the job done, even if it does come at great personal cost!

For now I'm standing by him! You don't reach his position in the armed forces without having something going for you. We'll see!

He can be replaced any other democrat.. with little change in result..

Kinda makes you wonder about McChrystal... He is as mouthy as Biden..

An article from Stars and Stripes magazine(posted earlier on FR), says, "If he fires McChrystal, Obama will enjoy the dubious distinction of being the only president in modern U.S. history to sack two wartime commanders in a little more than a year.".

This says something about Obama, but not something good.
