They are only too glad to get rid of the uneducated, illiterate, often criminal peasants we are constantly told are "enriching" us.
Mexico has filed an Amicus brief in an existing law suit. They are NOT a legal party to the litigation. An Amicus brief is commonly referred to as a “friend of the Court” brief in which a concerned party shares their legal analysis and opinion with the court in an effort to “educate” the court on all issues and angles.
Who the eff is mexico to ask ANYTHING of OUR country???
Yea, but you know what an "amicus brief" is!
Remember that these people who pay the high price to leave family and friends, risk dangerous crossings and paying high prices to criminal smugglers for the CHANCE of a better life ARE PROBABLY the most enterprising and motivated people in their social groups, If they did not escape to the "Golden North", what then would they be likely to do? Is it not unlikely that these relatively powerless peons would reach for any lever, like revolution, to improve their lot and feed their families.
I do understand the economics driving these individuals north to provide for their families. No question.
I believe the crux of the problem is the illegal action to achieve their goals.
economically speaking people rob others or banks, etc to get an economic advantage. Then spend the money the way they choose (drugs, whatever).
The problem is the course they have chosen to accomplish their goal ... is illegal.
If they would get in line with the others already there, there would be no problem. In the interim, true, they would not have the funds to support their family.
However they would not be breaking the law either. when you break the law you must suffer the consequences.
Be it fines or jail or deportation.
Laws for one ‘group’ should not be waived or set aside for their benefit when others would suffer because they followed and abided by them.
"The IRS will relentlessly pursue you...."
I was merely offering the rationale as to why Mexico so fears ANY EFFORT to restrain their ability to use the USofA as a safety valve. I DID NOT SAY that I agreed with their efforts. I STRONGLY SUPPORT securing our borders ASAP although I don’t think that it will happen until after 2012 [I believe Senator Kyl over the White House]!
I understand. I can understand why Mexicans want to come to the US too. Economics is a hard motivator.
Our nation of laws is slowing losing its place and its mind following this road.
2012 is a long time to wait. I think the next lame duck Congress will ‘screw’ us even more.
