I respect your beliefs, but mine are different.
Exactly. And Genesis 12:1,2 does not prophesy events. The passage is a general promise that sets the stage for, A. the covenant in Gen 15, which deeds the land to Abraham's descendants and B. defines the foundation for God's prophetic program for Abraham's descendants.
Nice...

Yes, every eye shall see and every knee shall bow, and every tongue will confess
I would not doubt the bible for one second.
It has given us many things, inclusive of technology, civility and freedom.... which Islam and Atheism have not been able to develop.
Sure it speaks in general terms, very general...however Ezekiel and John DID SEE the a rough segment of road that we have yet to travel. Their reporting of what they saw got reduced into the perspective of the day....and was framed with “I saw it in a vision, or last night I had a dream”.
Barack Obama has been cursing Israel since he became president.
And our nation is now reaping the curses of God because of it. This oil disaster is an act of God against America for the duly-elected president of the United States' treatment of Israel.
A prophecy fulfilled.
I don’t think anyone here would take issue with the Johnstown Flood, which killed over 2,000 people, being worse than the Deepwater Horizon disaster, which killed 11.
The Johnstown Flood occured in 1889, when there wasn’t an Israel for America to go against.
Was there a single natural disaster or severe industrial accident of any kind in Germany from the time Hitler became Chancellor in 1933 through 1939? Or even through 1945? Of course Germany suffered enormous destruction at the hands of the Allies, but that was the deliberate action of humans.
All I can come up with is the Hindenburg in 1937. And if that was caused by a deity and was punishment for what Germany was doing to the Jews, killing 35 people is a pretty pathetic effort.
Anyone supporting Lindsey or this McTernan guy and their silliness care to explain either of the above?
I can’t even begin to comprehend how one arrives at a mindset that views the Deepwater Horizon oil spill as anything other than complex technology combined with human stupidity.
Much of what Hal Lindsay has said is not the truth, and you are better off to read the Bible yourself.
Israel became a country in 1948
What’s happening in the gulf is peanuts to what will one day really come. This is an accident. Period.
When the events written of begin to take place there will be no doubt whatsoever. And it surely won’t just entail the gulf waters. There have been other oil spills greater than this...so see it for what it is....an accident.
I like Beck’s theory better.
We've had oil spills and such in the past - were they also curses from God? I don't think so, and don't think this one is either. Stuff happens in this fallen world. Human beings are utterly fallible. I'd say this oil spill is more a curse from Adam and Eve than from God.
Of course, the marked increase in natural disasters in this country over the past few months solidifies that we are being cursed because the president the majority of the American people elected into office is cursing Israel.
And as far as people getting the message? Nobody's giving God credit so far and nobody in this nation, except for a few pastors who take God at His word, is calling for Barack Obama to stop trying to divide the land God gave the Jews and start standing by Israel's side once again.
No, unless a person knows Christ as Savior and therefore is able to understand Scripture, they are going to be completely blind to whatever God does. Just the fact that there are people who deny that God is the Creator is proof positive of that.
Is that really a fly on his face? When did that happen? I’m asking because it seems odd that he didn’t try to get it off.
He's not claiming to be prophesying. He's interpreting scripture. There's a significant difference.
how about the division of germany into halves, the berlin wall ? look at Israeli experiences thru Old Testament narratives. GOD uses nations to punish other nations.
