New poll shows Obama approval at all-time low
Yahoo News ^ | June 24, 2010 | Yahoo

The White House has been fond of citing turning points lately, most recently when describing the administration's handling of the Gulf of Mexico oil spill. Now President Obama faces a turning point of his own — and not for the better.

A new NBC/Wall Street Journal poll finds Obama's approval rating to be the lowest it's been since he took office 18 months ago. According to the poll, only 45 percent approve of the job Obama is doing in the White House, compared with 48 percent who disapprove. And the numbers only get worse from there: Sixty-two percent of respondents believe the country is on the wrong track — the highest number recorded since just before Election Day in 2008 — and just one-third believe things are going to get better, a 7-point drop since a month ago and the lowest such number in the Obama presidency.

The fallout from the Gulf of Mexico oil spill appears to be the biggest drag on Obama's numbers. Fifty percent disapprove of his handling of the crisis — including one in four Democrats. But generally, the poll finds increasing doubts about Obama as a leader.

Just 49 percent of those polled give Obama positive ratings when asked if he has "strong leadership qualities" — that's a decline of 8 points since January and nearly 20 points from when he first took office.

Less than half rate him positively when asked if he's "honest and straightforward." In January '09, 63 percent gave him positive marks for "being firm and decisive in decision-making." That number is now at 44 percent.

Asked about his "ability to handle a crisis," only 40 percent rate him positively, an 11-point drop since January. You can read the full poll results here.

Yea, even todays Toronto news rag claimed that Ozero “Shined” in confrontation with the General. Shined? Like maybe Obama shined his shoes! That would have been more fitting!

This poll gives one pause. Great news. Now the question is while we think he is an absolute failure, Pelosi, Reid and Obama are passing laws that we can’t even
keep up with. One was the Disclose act yesterday. This is just an example of what this man’s agenda is doing to our freedoms. Failure? You bet. But his agenda is getting passed. Don’t celebrate yet. Get the job done in November to stop this run away train.

I’m sure the fact that he is siding with the Mexican drug cartels against Arizona isn’t helping his case any.

that’s what I was thinking too but it’ll be more of a dead cat bounce though.
He promised too much to too many different groups and anyone with two brain cells knew that what he was saying was not possible.

I’m in Massachusetts, and I’m hearing a high percentage of disappointment among people who voted for him.

Polls are meaningless when your building a dictatorship.
By the time we reach 2012, we won’t recognise this country anymore.
They are moving that fast, so I laugh every time I see a silly approval poll post, suggesting we are still living in the free climate as before.

As I have said a hundred times here: Polls are meaningless to this guy as he is getting everything he wants with amazing ease.

Obama must gio. And the network he creates now must be destroyed, rooted out and obliterated.

..........interested in his numbers for different states,

Egg-zackley. Whoop-dee-doo, Obama's numbers at an all-time low among all Republicans and a lot of "Independents."

BFD in the states with the Electoral votes. He may have slipped drastically there ... down to 85% or so. OK, there's going to be a Republican sweep of the House in 2010. Again, Whoop-dee-doo! What are they going to do when they get there?

By 2012, which is what counts, the economy will be so bad and the Democrats so organized that they will blame the mess on an obstructionist Republican Congress and sweep back into office behind Hillary.

Republicans?
No Program
No Plan
No Leader
No Clue
Yet.

The official Republican Party of the RNC and Michael Steele, Lindsey Graham, et al. Could not even prevent two Republicans, Castle of Delaware, and Cao of LA from handing the Democrats a victory .... their anti-constitutional repression of Free Speech with the "Disclosure" bill which passed the House by 1 vote!

The Official Republican Party is fighting for its position as deal broker ... not for the crucial battle of preserving the Republic, the Constitution, and Americans.

This poll stuff is meaningless pablum. Zero and his band of thieves are ramming through their financial bill this week. Cheering like we have won something is pointless. Right now we need to light up the Congressional republicans who are on cruise control thinking they have November in the bag.

MCCain-Feingold also helped the Dems seize power in 2006 and 2008. McCain is one of them.

November is gonna be fun. 1994 will look like a walk in the park (to the Dems) compared to this.

Polls don't matter any more.

Polls never mattered to Stalin. To Hitler. To Pol Pot.

It doesn't matter to a dictator.

B S, 45% approval is about 20 points too high.

McCain is one of them.

...won't argue with that, but people voted for Democrats on their own.
