score should have been 4,2 and if they teams were level at half time then England would not have come out looking to that goal so early and throw players forward to get caught out.

Still in the end Germany played better but to say humiliate is a little deceiving. ..

Both teams played to a place where no other teams have played and that was no moaning, no nothing but get on with the game as it should be.

I saw an interview with Alan Shearer and he said it was so bad he did not even know where to start to discuss the loss. The English are taking it very hard it seems.

You are correct, how you play a 2-2 game is different than how you play a 2-1 game in the knock out phase of a tournament. With out going back and watching the game, it seemed England got caught in transition which often occurs when a team is pushing up to get a goal.

That said, I thought Germany played better, held their shape very well. Also, Ashley Cole and John Terry did not play that well.

What we will never know is how England would have played with a 2-2 tie at the half. Germany can never complain again. Now all we need is for Argentina to be eliminated over a goal scored by a handball and the world will be back in balance.
