GE CEO collapses during Biden speech

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Jim Campbell, the President and CEO of General Electric's Appliance and Lighting Division, was rushed to a doctor after he collapsed just before 11:30 a.m. Monday as Vice President Joe Biden was speaking.

Campbell, who was seated on a stool at the end of the stage set up inside a warehouse at GE's Appliance Park in Louisville, fell from a stool and off the stage as Biden was nearing the end of his remarks.

Biden paused and called for a doctor.

"Do we have a doctor here?" Biden asked. "Ladies and gentlemen, that's a sad note to end this on. Do we have a doctor here?"

According to GE spokeswoman Kim Freeman, Campbell appears to be fine, but was taken to a medical clinic on site to be seen by a physician.

As Campbell was taken away, Biden remarked: "So folks, as my grandfather used to say, 'keep the faith.'"

Freeman says Campbell's collapse appears to be heat related.

Biden was in town to tout the job-creation virtues of the Economic Recovery Act during his speech at Appliance Park, where the company is making a $600 million investment to expand manufacturing.

That investment is backed by nearly $25 million in tax credits that GE received under the stimulus.

“may cause drowsiness, do not operate heavy machinery, etc.”

I think the side effects are rather more substantial. In addition to what you said, “May cause nausea and projectile vomiting. Listeners with IQs greater than 80 have been known to experience extended migraine headaches followed by sudden cardiac arrest upon exposure to such an unexpectedly high level of stupidity in a nationally elected official.”

Indeed, were Joe Biden a prescription drug, the FDA likely would have had him taken off the market years ago for public safety reasons.

Notice it was so warm in there that Biden and other men had their jackets off. GE CEO didn’t. So much for air-conditioning.

Exerting myself riding a bike in the heat, wearing heavy clothing, then go into a very well air-conditioned, small building.

Spooky, huh? Biblical? Maybe something like Isaiah 51:20, Your sons have fainted; they lie at the head of every street, like antelope caught in a net. They are filled with the wrath of the LORD and the rebuke of your God. Nah, probably just the heat. And what was the translation of Beelzebub?

Biden remarked: "So folks, as my grandfather used to say, 'keep the faith Joe, you're going to end up just like a thorn on a rose bush - an irritating prick. And God bless him, he was right..'"

GE is making a $600 million investment to expand manufacturing at the nearly 60-year-old Appliance Park in Louisville. It is being supported by $24.8 million in tax credits that were part of the Obama administration’s stimulus plan.

The investment is expected to create about 830 jobs.

Biden took a shot at critics of the federal Recovery Act.

“I love these guys who say government should stay out of this,” he said sarcastically, referring to the economic recovery.

******

Parent company of NBC received taxpayer’s money and Biden thinks that is something to be proud of?

$25 million to create 830 jobs?!

G.E. sucking up to Hussein again. I despise crony capitalism. G.E. is an arm of the Hussein regime. They suck.
