God, I pray endorsements mean NOTHING.
I NEVER voted for anyone on the basis of an endorsement from the media or another scum sucking political hack.
Call me stupid, but I believe the voters of Arizona will make up their own minds and will never take instructions from that globalist pseudo-conservative crowd at the National Review.
McCain was for comprehensive immigration reform before he was against it, which could be said of the National Review as well.
I don’t know. I ask people I know and respect who I know OUTSIDE of my political circle and they like McCain. For some reason, they have a real affinity for the guy. What can I say?
I'm on JD's email list and he said a couple weeks back that early voting in Arizona started in late July, and that he would begin his TV advertising in early July, so you should be seeing something during the next week or two.
Neither he, nor any challenger, would have had the millions McCain had from previous fund raising. JD just topped two million and that is damned good for a challenger in a medium sized state, and he'll probably be able to raise one more million. The Scott Brown thing was a very unusual set of circumstances and few non-incumbents will ever raise the sort of money he raised.
And the two debates are July 16 and 17, so JD's campaign should be very evident from then until August 24.
I let my subscription lapse earlier this year. For many years, NR was both influential and conservative. Those days are gone.
I think McCain will win.
It has to do with respect and honor for service to country.
They want to give him the honor of leaving public life on his own terms.
But as a conservative, I wish Bob Dole, John McCain, and Daddy Bush would have taken their distinguished service records and parlayed them in some other profession than.
They fought the good and honorable fight on the foreign field of battle, but they seemed to have surrendered more often than not on the stinking swampland on which our Capitol was built.
If I was a subscriber, I’d cancel.
Ugh...NRO used to be on my “must read” daily reading. I haven’t been at the site in months. Girly boys, as Coulter said...

Hayworth doesn’t have enough money.
if the polls are to be believed most of AZ does and that’s what matters
I stopped reading NR after that absurdity.
Meanwhile, McCain is doing permanent damage that JD won’t be able to fix later. I understand the hanging on to the money part, but the damage being done in June will be impossible to fix with any amount of money spent in July.
Nobody has enough money. McCain has lotsa dough left over from the Presidential campaign he didn’t run.
Too bad for JD. He did manage to get enough donations to his campaign to pay off his prior campaign debts though.
That is more an indictment of Hayworth's campaigning than anything else, right?
I knew as much about Hayworth when he was a congressman as I do now. Nearly every thread posted on FR has been a McCain bashing thread while none or very few have touted the virtues of voting FOR Hayworth.
What damage is being done that can’t be fixed?
