David Axelrod, who once wrote an op-ed in the Chicago Tribune defending the widespread and corrupt Chicago practice of patronage hiring, accused the GOP of playing by Chicago rules on The Daily Show last night.
Much better, though, he took credit for stopping the swine flu near the end of the clip below.
"I'd argue that we have shown a baseline level of competence...Take the H1N1 flu for example. We jumped on that quickly...I think we averted a larger public health disaster."

Axelrod is really reaching here - grasping at straws to defend the hopelessly clueless and incompetent Obama Administration.

What percentage of people got inoculated against the Swine Flu and was that enough to break an epidemic? During the initial "hair on fire" phase there weren't enough vaccines to give to everyone who wanted it, and then once it fell off the radar no one cared about it. This looks more like a case of the Obama administration whipping up panic about a vampire invasion, then claiming credit for fighting it off.

Swine flu was NOT a threat.....it was overhyped by the WHO.
Other than that idiotAxelrod, incompetence and inexperience reins supreme in this lamearse Jack Squat administration...and to think, idiots like you continually criticized the Bush administration for its faults, lulz. Suck it up idiotAxelrod, given the ongoing poll numbers, incompetence and inexperience runs hand-in-hand with every mention made of this lamearse Jack Squat administration. =.=

Axelrod reminds me of that old Chicago machine joke where the ward boss is called to task for putting his senile mother-in-law on the payroll to watch for tidal waves.
Says the prosecuter "Chicago hasn't had a tidal wave in all of recorded history."
Retorts the boss on trial "Well, don't thank me, thank my mother-in-law!"

We stopped the Swine Flu (although we told you not to call it that) by......telling Americans to wash their hands. Next year we will eradicate food poisoning by teaching correct food handling procedures. We are the Ones we have been waiting for! America is saved by personal hygiene!!!
