Ive been interested in the Second Amendment for a long time, but for a long time, it wasnt really part of the Constitution.
Oh, I mean it was part of the Constitution right there between the First Amendment on one side, and the Third Amendment (the only part of the Bill of Rights that really works when did you last hear of troops being quartered in someones house?) on the other. But in mainstream constitutional discourse, it just didnt exist....

DEMS prolly think that the Founders put the 2nd Amendment was put in the Constitution as a placeholder ...
I don’t think Heller or McDonald changed much or at least anything of substance. It hasn’t changed the minds of millions of liberals who would happily vote our liberties away. Its hasn’t changed the ways of heavy handed state and local govts. They’ll still try to disarm the populace. So what if a bunch of guys in black robes decided it would be this way. If we continue on our way what use will the rule of law be to us personally or societally? Law and court proceedings only mean something in societies that respect them. Yet our Congress OKed ‘the wise latina’ and will shortly do the same w/ Kagan. We didn’t become a nation b/c lawyers said it was OK.
From Hussein to Schumer, from Bloomberg to Shortshanks in Chicago, the left has worked for decades to overturn the 2nd amendment for one reason and one reason ONLY...it is just TOO dangerous to enslave an ARMED people. The Framers knew this and made certain that citizens would have the means to overthrow a criminal, tyrannical state. Leftists have tried to REMOVE those means but have so far failed to get that 5th radical leftist on the court.
''Heller'' laid a foundation; ''McDonald'' is the one-story house. Hopefully, we will be able to add additional floors.
No. Since for Libs the Constitiution is a “living [breathing] document”., the Second Amendment existed in suspended animation until the National Guard was founded, at which point it took life, guaranteeing the National Guard the right to keep and bear arms [when in uniform.
BTW, why are the timestamps fast by over two minutes?
Well of course. To them it was just a "zero". To be ignored.
Neither of you guys are getting this. The ‘living Constitution’ crowd is bent on making a mockery of original intent aka a society built on the law of relativism which is really nothing more than lawlessness. There will be no 2ndA as we know it. As I said, when we allow lawyers to tell us what the law says we’re in trouble. Its crystal clear what the original intent was. The big question is when push comes to shove how will the American people rule. Thats the ruling that really matters!
