Yes, temps. Perhaps one of your daughters is available?
If that offends you, remember, the temps you refer to are somebody’s daughters.
I am really heartsick about the references to the prostitutes on this thread. There seems to be no concern whatsoever about whether this behavior offends God or hurts anybody (the whore, the john, the john’s family, the unintended babies created. . .)
“Ship rules mean no sex on board”
.
The demise of “don’t ask-don’t tell” will change all that!
.
Well, I wouldn't know about that, but I would say that you're the only ones who would wish a fatal venereal disease on your fellow human beings. That qualifies you as virtuous, I suppose, and the rest of us as sinful. Have a very nice evening.

Yes, I can ‘feel your pain’.
I can remember the distinct lack of reading rooms etc when visiting such dull ports as Bangkok, Manila, Hong Kong and several other various cities in the Far East.
Olangapo PI had a definite lack of reading rooms etc and it was hard pressed to find something to do.
However there was ALWAYS some SYT around to help pass the time.
Ah, the memories of a ‘glorious youth’ on Unka Sugahs dime...
Some people ought to try the 24/7 routine, under a constant stage of semi-siege, then tell me how they act after being ‘penned up’ for days/weeks/months etc at a time.
I have not wished a fatal venereal disease on anybody. What are you talking about?
Pulled into Darwin a few times, Perth twice, Mackay and Brisbane but Perth was the only port I went to when I was single. I don’t recall hookers being a necessity there, plenty of women available for all. I guess an LHA and LSD together would push a small place like Darwin to the limits though especially if they have Marines onboard, which I assume they do.
Great.
I see the name of my old gray lady, the USS Peleliu...
And it’s a story about prostitutes.
(sigh)
When the Peleliu went to Freemantle, Australia back in ‘94, and I spent five days there, I did not see a single unattractive female the entire time I was there.
I behaved myself, though. I was married at the time.
Well, I am in agreement with you. The last time I looked, the Bible had not been altered to include only 9 commandments. Is is ironic that people here will criticize Bill Clinton for his sexual escapades, but excuse it in the military. Why is that, I wonder?
So much for the idea of an officer and a gentleman.
officer and a gentleman are apparently 2 very different people
Yes, men protect women. They don’t exploit them.
I heard that to from a old Sac pilot and pilot then flight engineer for a major US airline.
I hear you.
As in "The Few, The Proud...
She also told said that there was a constant parade of Australian women .. married and single .. headed for the docks whenever an American ship or flotilla came in to Brisbane. Although it was never specifically stated, I'm sure she was in that crowd somewhere in her younger days as a Bunny in the Brisbane Playboy Club.
You would think they would be self contained, getting all the action onboard ship.
