No hurricane this... Alex is a tropical storm that did not land below TX border, but turned, degraded and is sitting just of Louisiana coast as of about one hour ago.. as per satellite image below.
Looks like a small remnant of Alex, left after that mass broke away and headed northeast toward Louisiana, still remains and could reform as a hurricane again - but with half the mass and greatly reduced wind velocity.
Just guessing - from views seen at this link.
Maybe this is God's oil-spill cleanup campaign... who knows.
