I live in Salisbury and frequently go to High Rock Lake which is owned by Alcoa and among those in this dispute. I trust Alcoa to be good stewards of their lakes and dams before I would trust the state. I recall shortly after the Kelo decision a law professor at UNC (or Duke ?) said the NC Constitution didn’t allow for private property to be taken by eminent domain. The article was posted here at FR. This sounds more like an attempt at theift than trying to “protect the enivornment”.
Well, the state must have ignored it, because North Carolina has a network of roads, just like any other state.
