Mexico gets to have a say in 1 of the lawsuits challenging Arizona's immigration enforcement law.

A federal judge on Thursday granted Mexico's request to be allowed to file a legal brief supporting the challenge. That means the judge will consider the brief Mexico submitted previously.

Reciprocity? The crime victims of the Mexican thugs in this country illegally should sue the Mexican Government for their allowing the thugs (drug cartel employees et al) to leave Mexico to enter the US. Yeah, I know, when pigs fly. How about this, a barrel of Mexican oil as equity for every illegal Mexican caught in the US. Yeah, I know, when pigs fly.

Now all we have to do is to get Mexico to file a lawsuit demanding to see Obama’s birth certificate. It seems that they will have legal standing.

Since when is MEXICO part of the United States?

Guess the US is going to grant them the right to take back what they have been claiming is rightfully theirs and has been stolen by those evil Europeans. We are so screwed - America voted for this, now enjoy Damn it!! /sarc

I’ve yet to see liberals regret anything that they do. They have one giant advantage, the fact that their opponents are the Republican Party. The Stupid Party always manages to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory no matter how hard the Democrats try to give it to them. When Obama’s Amnesty alienates every single American voter Lindsey Graham will manage to tie the Republicans to the problem by loudly giving GOP support to Obama’s treason.

This is not particularly unusual. Look at the amicus briefs filed when the SCOTUS hears a case on a broad issue, like a takings issue (Kelo) or the recent 2nd Amendment case involving Chicago's gun ban.

Sure as heck is unusual - when was the last time you saw a sovreign state submit an amicus brief in a case that did not directly concern it?

This is a case concerning a state law that mandates the verification of immigration status, when warranted. The fact that most of the immigrants [read ILLEGALS] that will be affected are from Mexico is of no consequence. The ONLY interest that Mexico has is that [if upheld] we will be sending back Mexican citizens and they will AGAIN be a drain on Mexico's resources ...

Given that Mexico has tacitly encouraged its citizens to leave for the United States [and thus lessen the financial burden on Mexico], Mexico has NO VALID STANDING in this case ...

AND never forget that will be one more ILLEGAL ALIEN that will no longer be wiring his paycheck (illegal pay) back home to Mexico.

My heart goes out to you.

In Santa Barbara on a visit, we couldn't find an English speaking person to order a pizza from. The hotel had stopped room service. After minutes on the phone with a nonEnglish speaker ... I gave up trying to explain we wanted a pizza with pepperoni and extra cheese. When it arrived, I truly didn't’ know what it was. It had vegetables on it and some other stuff. We were so hungry we ate in anyway. This was 1 years ago!

No one said they had standing. That’s the point of amicus briefs - they are merely submitted by entities who [think they] are being helpful - not by parties to the case. Parties to the case can submit pleadings, they don’t need to ask permission to submit a brief.

"Since when is MEXICO part of the United States?"

If they WANT to be part of the U.S., we could take that shithole over and run it right.

Starting by getting rid of EVERYone in anything remotely approaching "authority."

My point is when was the last time a sovreign state's amicus brief was accepted in an American court - when the sovreign state DID NOT have ANY legal interest in the case ...

I’ve been here long enough to remember when English was spoken and SoCal looked like suburban America.

We are ceding sovereignty of the SW to Mexico. It is in the process of happening.

Posting signs like these has legal implications that go straight to the heart of American sovereignty. 0baMao has asserted that southern Arizona has been ceded to Mexico.

Gov. Brewer to President Obama ...(Must see video)
