Obama: America's Borders 'Just Too Vast' to Secure (Impeach him!)
News Max ^ | July 1, 2010 | Staff

President Barack Obama says America's borders are "just too vast" for the immigration problem to be solved with fences and border patrols alone.

He said that a comprehensive solution is needed, instead, urging one that holds everyone accountable, from illegal immigrants to the businesses that hire them.

Obama said the reality is, Republican support is needed to arrive at such a solution. Right now, GOP support is not forthcoming in an election year.

In his first major speech on immigration at president, Obama also spoke to the need to reform the system of legal immigration. That's a welcome message to advocates who contend too much emphasis has been placed on enforcing laws against illegal immigrants even as eligible citizenship applicants languish.

Obama blamed immigration policy gridlock on "political posturing and special interest wrangling."

In the speech Obama took Republicans to task, in particular 11 GOP senators who supported recent efforts to improve the immigration system. He did not name any in particular, but told his largely supportive audience at American University that those lawmakers had succumbed to the "pressures of partisanship and election-year politics."

Impeach him? Yes.

He took an oath to defend the country against all enemies.

If he is unable or unwilling to do so - he should be replaced.

If the violence and chaos gets much worse in Mexico, there is going to be a huge surge of illegals coming north. We have the opportunity right now to put measures in place that would control such an invasion. But he already has given up — given up on the lives of ranchers along the border, given up on our sovereignty, given up on control of American territory.

Russia doesn’t seem to have a problem securing their borders.

I thought he said that the border was more secure now than at any other time in history. Put some Predators, A-10 and AH-64s along that border and make it a free fire zone and I’ll guarantee you’ll be able to secure it.

Prissydent Obama is too busy duffing to secure the border.

Besides that is one of the few things in the world that is actually his JOB, why would he want to do that?

Needless to say, without that, America can not be a sovereign nation. Thanks obama, you have met your objectives from yet another perspective.

What happened to “Yes we can”? It should be changed to “No, I don’t want to.”

I wonder if Obama realizes that in the event of China becoming a preeminent power, that he will not be among those in a position of power.

They are NOT too vast. You start sending these illegals back firmly and forcefully and they will self deport.

Kick them the hell out then we will talk about comprehensive.

Its bs to argue about the businesses that hire them: its against the law. Prosecute them.

There is no need for it to be part of “compweehensive weeform”.

Just enforce our existing laws and stop the damn posturing.

If Republicans fall for this stupid and clumsy trap, God help us.

Hmmm.. That’s odd. Our health care system wasn’t too vast for our Government to seize control of. Hmmm..

President Barack Obama says America's borders are "just too vast" for the immigration problem to be solved with fences and border patrols alone.

Wondering if he knows what the National Guard is? He's happy to send 500 NG's to Arizona....all desk jockeys! He's giving away our country and no one is stopping him. Not the Congress, not the courts, no one! Our only hope is that 10,000 Minutemen show up at the border.

Mexico doesn’t seem to have any problems securing the border. This fool doesn’t want to do anything but make excuses, blame someone, and refuses to actually solve any problem that they usually create themselves.
