what do you call the dialect he used reciting today’s prompter? I heard some notes with southern drawl (Byrd’s funeral) with hints of Afro-centered and some flagrant femme whistling sssssssssssss sounds throughout. Gave my body the chills all the way down to my num-nums!!

I’ve long thought that his sudden speed up and upward inflection at the end of every sentence is very similar to what I used to hear in the malls from the little debs in the San Fernando Valley. To me, his speech patterns are pure Valley Girl.
He’s not the first to try to adjust his delivery to reach an audience. John F’n Kerry (Can I get me a huntin’ license...) and Hillary Clintoon (I ain’t no way tahred...) both became laughingstocks from their feeble attempts.

Agree with your post!! But the worst absolute worst is those constant sssssssss’s like nails on a chalk board. Really grates on my nummies! Sometimes just have to turn the sound off and watch the body language. The ssss is kind of sissssssyfied for a man...umm he could be ssssweeetified!! How did he learn to use those whistling sssssss’s????
I’ll have to tune up my ears to listen for the ssssss’s.
But that comes at the risk of adding yet another layer of irritant to the indignity of watching and listening to him in the first place.
I swear, every time I turn on the news, there’s old purple lips flapping his gums ad nauseum. As if talking people to death will make them suddenly agree with his preposterous assertions.
I was sick of his speech delivery before his election. But I feel compelled to pay attention to what he’s saying, just to stay current on the latest outrage du jour.
I cannot watch him or listen to him. I've begun listening to sports radio only because I hear his voice on conservative radio and Fox TV. I worked for decades with idiots like him both male and female who were deemed to be geniuses for only one reason. I don't have to see it or hear it in retirement.

If he was "grossly incompetent", he'd "get it right" now and again, just by accident.
He never "gets it right", therefore he's doing it all with malice aforethought, which is entirely consistent with the company he's kept for the last 40 years.
